Oh, yes! Absolutely. As reckless as ever of course. Still doesn't open up much, but fine. My apologies, I didn't mean to worry you. I was reaching out on another matter. ... It's Slaine.
I'm not sure I've ever seen Slaine not some variety of down. I thought he was just adjusting and needed time, but he's not eating like he should. More recently he keeps asking for his gun, which I've been safekeeping for him. I worry about what could happen if I give it back, but he doesn't seem stable enough to have such a thing...
I understand that. My family has a military background.
[ To put it very, very diplomatically. ]
I apologize for not articulating myself well. I'm concerned with the harm he could do to himself or to others should I return his firearm. I know he is, at core, a good person. I trust him with my life implicitly. I do not trust him with his own. I have similar misgivings regarding Mikazuki, but I'm not certain there is a way to make that boy less of a hazard to himself. Still, the gun is Slaine's property. I worry about what my actions say to him when he asks for its return and I refuse him. I wonder if that is contributing to his inability to feel at home with us.
[Mikazuki or Slaine? Perhaps the distinction doesn't matter]
Someone like that shouldn't have a weapon that ready to use. It's going to wear down his nerves sooner than later. And the sooner her walks away from that life, the better. Even if it haunts him. Sometimes doing what's best for someone has little to do with what they want. Even if it sacrifices getting their trust.

That's how you know Mikazuki's acting normally.
Of course it's Slaine I should be worried about.
Is he still feeling down?

You know Slaine used to be a solider, conscripted or otherwise, don't you?
It's not a life you can shake off lightly.
I don't think he'll be "stable" for a long time.

I know what it's like to be on the run.
Running errands, cooking...tasks like that.

You don't waste any time, do you. What are you cooking?
Audio
Mmm, maybe bake a vegetable and bean pie? Something like that?

[right, focus]
I didn't mean that literally, but I'm not gonna turn out baked potatoes for dinner.
That's very romantic of you.
Re: Audio
Oooh hahaha. Well I kinda wanted to go out on the town. Admire the stars together! Pretty nice huh?
Audio
In the meantime, I wouldn't mind going out to the West End. It's been a while since our arrival here.
Audio
Sure, let's head out there! We can take our time with it.
